Frequently Asked Questions

What do you talk to my kids about?

Your child has the same confidentiality privileges as adults. If there is something dangerous or concerning, I will help your child talk with you about the issue. What I like for parents to understand is that I am creating an environment for your child to feel comfortable. When I work with children or adolescents, I am helping them to understand their feelings and thoughts and find ways to cope with them in healthy ways. I am not another adult that tells them what to do. I am helping them feel better, and when they feel better, they can move through life easier (and usually that means improved behavior).

How will I know if this will even help?

Therapy is a relationship. We heal in relationship. So, when we find the right connection with the right therapist, we begin to feel seen and heard and healing begins. My feeling is there is always a way to do life better, more authentically. Therapy can help and feeling better is possible.

How long is each session?

Sessions are 50 minutes.

Can I use my insurance?

If you have out of network benefits, my billing team will submit claims to your policy. Keep in mind you may have a deductible that needs to be met before they start paying. Also, they do not tell us how much they will pay until they are billed. So, until insurance kicks in, self payment will be expected.

Do you have a sliding fee?

I do offer spots for sliding fee clients. The availability of those spots is dependent on the number of clients in the practice. I try to accommodate people as best as I can, just let me know if you need assistance.
